LAGOON ADVENTURE AND MOUNTAIN-BIKE TOUR



This 8-days tour helps you discover the Ivory Coast from another angle,
 alternating mountain biking and sailing in a landscape straight from paradise.

Day 1
Welcome at Abidjan airport and transfer the hotel.Group introductions and orientation at the superb Yacht Club. Free time and welcoming cocktail with the group.
Dinner in the typical restaurant and night at the hotel.

Day 2  (Bingerville) approximately 20 km of bicycling
Morning departure on mountain bikes for a day trip to the region around Bingerville, a former Ivory Coast capital. The trip weaves its way through stunning natural environments including bamboo forests and manioc fields. Visit Bingerville and its Botanical Garden.  Return and night at the hotel. 

Day 3
Sail up the lagoon in a pinnace boat.
Visit the TOUPAH region that borders the lagoon, palm plantations, the lake-front village of TIAGBA and Shrimp Island…
Night in the TOUPAH campground

Day 4
Sail further up the lagoon to the ASSAGNY National Park to observe numerous lake-dwelling birds and animals. Stopover at the beach at LAHOU.  Return to Sassandra and the hotel.

Day 5  (Sassandra) approximately 25 km of bicycling
Travel towards Laketo, Poly-Plage…
After a full day alternating biking and swimming far from civilization, spend one night in a modernized traditional hut.

Day 6  (Poly plage) Biking, Swimming and/or Surfing
Bike out to fine sand beaches hidden in coves surrounded by dense vegetation.  
20-30 km circuit of varying forest biking paths.
Return to Poly-plage. 

Day 7  (poly plage) Free time
Do as you please: swim, surf, meet the villagers, sample local seafood caught using traditional methods...  
Optional mountain biking excursion in the area.  
Second night in this spectacular natural setting. 

Day 8
Return to Abidjan and visit Grand Bassam, a former Ivory Coast capital on the Atlantic coast.
A hint of the past as you discover French colonial architecture.  
Visits to sculptors and numerous artisans are planned.

Transfer to the airport in late afternoon (end of tour).
